Mega Menu

The Mega Menu allows you to display large, multi-level navigation panels on desktop, ideal for stores with many categories or collections.

How to enable Mega Menu

Step 1 – Go to Header settings

From your Shopify admin:

Online Store → Themes → Customize → Header

Step 2 – Select Desktop menu type

Find the setting:

Desktop menu type

Select Mega menu from the dropdown.

Step 3 – Choose Mega Menu orientation (optional)

Once Mega menu is selected, a new option appears:

• Default → Opens below the header (classic mega menu layout)
• Left Drawer → Opens as a left-side drawer menu

When should I use Mega Menu?

Mega Menu is recommended if:

• Your store has many categories
• You use multi-level navigation
• You want to display collections, links, and promotional content together

For smaller stores, the Dropdown option is usually sufficient.

Menu structure requirements

To properly display a Mega Menu, your navigation must include at least one submenu.

In Online Store → Navigation:

• Level 1 → Main categories
• Level 2 → Columns
• Level 3 → Links

If no submenus exist, the menu will automatically fall back to a simple dropdown.

Promo Cards (Mega Menu)

Promo Cards allow you to display promotional images inside your Mega Menu, such as campaigns, new collections, or featured products.

These cards appear inside the Mega Menu panel and are linked to specific top-level menu items.

How to add a Promo Card

Step 1 – Go to Header

Online Store → Themes → Customize → Header

Step 2 – Add block

Click Add block and select:

Promo Card

Step 3 – Match Menu Item Name

In the block settings, fill:

Menu Item Name

This must exactly match one of your top-level menu titles.

It is case-sensitive.

Example:

• Menu item: WOMEN  
• Promo Card Menu Item Name: WOMEN   ✅
• Women   or women   ❌ (will not work)

Step 4 – Add content

Fill the following fields:

• Image → Promo image shown inside the Mega Menu
• Title → Heading displayed on the card
• Link → Destination URL when clicked

Where do Promo Cards appear?

Promo Cards are displayed:

• Only when Mega Menu is active
• Inside the corresponding menu panel
• Next to regular menu links

They do not appear in:

• Dropdown menu
• Mobile drawer menu

Use cases

Promo Cards are perfect for:

• Highlighting New Arrivals
• Seasonal campaigns (Sale, Winter Collection, etc.)
• Linking to high-priority collections
• Promoting landing pages

Important notes

• One Promo Card is linked to one top-level menu item
• You can add multiple Promo Cards for different menu items
• If the menu title changes, you must update Menu Item Name manually
